British contemporary ceramist, artist, educator and musician, Boris Aldridge (b. 1974, Dublin), has been hand-crafting and firing unique ceramic tiles for nearly 25 years from his studio in Suffolk, England.

Following an inspiring visit to the Alhambra, Aldridge began studying traditional tile-making techniques and Islamic geometry. It was when he discovered Medieval Persian ceramics that he first began making his signature lustre tiles.

Boris Aldridge’s work has been acquired by museums globally. A Blue Forest panel was commissioned by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (accession no. 2023.107) and is now housed in their permanent Art of the Islamic Worlds collection. One of his earlier tiles is on display in the Fisher Fine Arts Material Library, at the University of Pennsylvania. His geometric tile Firmament was selected for exhibition at the Royal Academy's 2024 Summer Exhibition in London. His tile Peacock no. 2 from the Blue Forest Series is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (accession no. 2023.556). Another tile was displayed at the Peranakan Museum of Singapore as part of their exhibition on peacocks in art.

In addition to his studio work, Aldridge has led workshops in Kashan lusterware at the School for Traditional Arts in London and has lectured internationally. In 2016 he delivered a talk on “Reinterpreting Kashan Lustreware” at the 3rd Conference of Geometric Patterns in Islamic Art in Istanbul. Boris has exhibited at the Alde Valley Spring Festival (2017, 2018, 2019), and at the Art of Islamic Pattern Exhibition in Homerton Hospital (London, 2019).

Aldridge had his sell-out first solo exhibition AURUM at Amir Mohtashemi gallery in the summer of 2019. His second solo exhibition REFLECTIONS took place in the autumn of 2025 in St. James's, London.
